Carolyn Gage and The Other L Words

by Mary Gorham Malia

Carolyn Gage is a very special gift to the lesbian community and she was a vocal supporter of the Live Your Best Lesbian Life Telesummit which took place in June of this year. She gave us the most wonderful gift of reading a piece she’s written on “The Other L-Words.” You’ll love this.

Carolyn Gage is a lesbian‑feminist playwright, performer, director, and activist. The author of nine books on lesbian theatre and sixty-five plays, musicals, and one-woman shows, she specializes in non-traditional roles for women, especially those reclaiming famous lesbians whose stories have been distorted or erased from history.

She is ferociously committed to her craft as a playwright and was awarded the Lambda Literary Award in 2008 for her play Joan of Arc.

I love this interview so much that I wanted to make it available here for the week as my gift to you. Listen and enjoy Carolyn’s wit, sense of humor and highly skilled ability to turn a phrase, create an image and open up your thinking with her use of words and imagery.

I promise you will not be disappointed.
