Hhmmm!!…whenever i see a statement such as the one above’It’s NOT a party for women,it’s a party for PEOPLE’,i am convinced that,aside from the ‘a priori’ assumption that women are not ‘whole’ be-ings , [most of the ] lesbians in this patriarchal [meaning,racist,misogynist,ageist, environmentally-destructive,animal-hating,WASP-centered,] culture have been assimilated and acculturalised into ‘buying’ the package that the dominant white-culture really sees us [that is,womyn,lesbians,anywhere inbetween] as PEOPLE!!…get a grip!!…all that has happened is that ‘you’ have been blinded by empty-promises,taken-in by charming-male-sociopaths who own and control 99% of alll the world’s resources,and turned inward all the vileness and viciousness of male society to such an extent that you actually hate yourself!…IF any lesbian,anytime,anywhere, cannot ‘celebrate’ her own ‘be-ing’ without the alleged ‘legitimisation’ of ‘men’ at our parties,then it’s time to STOP,LOOK and LISTEN to what you are saying,for whose benefit,what shabby-politics are behind that,and exactly ‘who’ are you???…if men want to contribute to our celebrations,then let them form their own groups,raise lots and lots of money for our committees/agenda and then donate same…let them give-up their male-privileges,stand aside when we expect ‘equal’rights/opportunities,etc. and not inhibit any movement of ours…even their attending is tacit agreement with them [by lesbians and womyn] that their agenda is our agenda!…it is not,and never has been…it’s time womyn and lesbians stopped paying service to the ‘boys’ and decide for ourselves,on our terms,in our spaces and time,’who’ we are and what we want…’gay’ pride is ‘male’ pride and we must not forget that gay males are still ‘males’ who enjoy,take-advantage of and relish the patriarchal privileges bestowed on them simply because they are [a-priori ] viewed as male by other males,the same ones who control/own 99% of the worlds’ resources…males,who are born males,cannot NOT be part of the establishment/patriarchy…it is a ‘given’ in the male world…and ‘maleness’ is the bedrock poison in any culture/society…if you doubt any of this, then just read such authors as Sheila Robotham,Germaine Greer,Adrienne Rich,Audre Lourde,Katherine Mansfield, CURVE magazine,Lesbian Connection,Lesbian LIves by Nicky Hallett…the list is endless!!…Wake-up,lesbians and womyn…stop the space-cadet-mind-set and vacuous-thinking that makes us replicas,facsimiles and apes to the male-culture and brain-washing!…the PRIDE is in our-lesbian-selves…not re-productions or lesbian-version of Stepford-wives!…soooo,enough already!!…i’m all for celebrating,and PRIDE,based on lesbians’ culture,not others’…and if you don’t know what is a lesbian,then read lesbian writers’ works and look closely at lesbian trail-blazers’ lives!!…

It’s NOT a party for women, it’s a party for PEOPLE. And organization of gay, straight and every sexual orientation in between of women and MEN who want to support the efforts of EMPOWERING women. It’s a PRIDE celebration!!!
