I followed your advice and threw out the things that made me feel frumpy and went out and bought some cute new clothes that make me feel like a gorgeous gal. It kind of opened my eyes about something. I grew up in a very big family. My dad made a good living and sent us all to college, we weren’t poor, but as a middle kid, I still got a lot of hand-me-downs. I always looked out of style and rumpled. As an adult, I pride myself on being frugal and finding most of my clothes at thrift stores. It used to be, when I was thinner, that these were really cool vintage finds. Now they’re just dull and whatever fits, including lots and lots of men’s polo shirts. I’ve been hiding. And why am I still treating myself like a neglected kid? I deserve better. Thanks for the jolt.

Showing the world that you are sexy and confident is great for self-esteem and only attracts others to you. I love Goodwill, and they know me by name. If I have not worn the thing in 2-3 years it goes there.
