Yes…. And, at this point in my life I would be worried if I weren’t miffed!! Imagine working one’s tail off for years, and then finding one’s life turned upside down, and everything shaken loose from one’s personhood. In “doing the work” of healing from family “stuff” I was then able to find my “self” in a place of calm, peace, predictability, safety, and tranquility. I have to admit not an easy task considering the journey I was placed on as an incredibly young child. Yet, I’ve done it with the help of others. “So,” it is in finding my “self” in an environment of criminal activity, predatory behavior, unpredictability, a proclivity for resolving differences with aggression, poor impulse control, and sexual inappropriateness that I am up in arms!! And all the lesbian love in the world can’t fix that!! That, too is progress as there was a time when I would have felt that another warm, lesbian body would cure all my ills!! Suffice it to say much has changed!! I’m reaching out… Allowing others in… Folks mention this being “a gift.” I’m trying to embrace that way of thinking albeit most challenging. I’m allowing myself to open up, be vulnerable, trust others, and stay in the moment. “Peace” can be found in this space, if I will only allow such. I’ve heard it said that “Ships are safest in the harbor, yet ships are not built for the harbor.” I’m doing my best to learn to be comfortable in the uncomfortable, and be with folks I would in no way way rub elbows with on a more personal level. It’s one thing to look after another’s needs while in the hospital. It’s quite another to do this within one’s personal life. Don’t give up on me quite yet!! I’m trying… It is with all the personal strength I can call on, and the strength of the great mystery that it is I’m Tryin’….

Thank you for sharing Mary. Love the wholesome and honest experiences that you share with us. A big believer in the Law of Attraction myself, I attracted someone that I would come to love deeply even though she would end the relationship.

I’ve become specific in my intentions after that and still continue to envision a beautiful relationship in sync with another. It’s a great movie set on re-run!

I hope your movie comes to fruition, too.

May I suggest reading any and all of Florence Scovel Shinn’s books…Her work precedes The Secret and all of its insights. Just don’t take her use of the word God the wrong way, she is writing in the early 1920’s:)! “The Game of Life and How to Play It”.

It’s always nice to right a movie that leaves the ending to the imagination. I am constantly working on rewrites and honing in on how to be my best me. In that way I hope to find a better someone else to explore loving and being loved.
